Spring is in the air!
Every November I get ready to hunker down. I once heard it referred to as “storytelling season” where families would light the wood stove, pile on the quilts, and pass down stories from generation to generation. It’s a great way to romanticize the shorter days and biting cold.
By March, however, I would like absolutely nothing to do with this reference any longer and find myself teeming with serotonin whenever I see anything remotely green in the yard. The seemingly endless grey skies and, more recently, absolute lack of magical snow inspires very little spontaneity and adventure. For this reason, I absolutely love spring cleaning! I am so ready to throw open the windows to greet this new season enthusiastically (though my windows just kind of inch upward in jumpy motions, as I live in a house built in 1890).
I firmly believe that it is easier to clean when your home is tidy. It’s hard to dust surfaces when they’re covered in piles and if it’s laborious to move a pile to dust— you might just skip dusting that area right? So in preparation for some the new season, I am hosting a pre-spring cleaning tidying challenge!
My good friend Amie Davis Organizing hosted a similar challenge at the start of the year, and I thought it was such a great way to be an accountability partner for people near and far. For the next few weeks, follow me on Instagram or Facebook to find daily decluttering and tidying tasks around the house. The end prize? MORE CLEANING! Just kidding, but your space will feel lighter and ready for a fresh new season ahead.
Are you ready to join me? Can’t wait to dive in!
